Instructors at CAMEO ART USA must hold a master's degree or higher in the relevant field or have over five years of practical experience in the course subject. The "Instructor Basic Information Form" (see Form 1) requires detailed and accurate completion of sections related to education, experience, publications, works (photos), awards, and certifications. These details are crucial for the qualification assessment of instructors. Please ensure thorough and accurate completion and attach copies of relevant publications or proof documents for verification purposes.
The "Course Outline and Course Information Form" is a primary document for course evaluation and is also crucial for CAMEO ART USA's overall course planning and promotional activities. Instructors are required to fill out the form accurately based on the provided fields. Below are the explanations for each item in the form:
1. Class Location
2. Class Time
3. Course Title
4. Instructor
Please fill in the instructor's name only.
5. Instructor Introduction
Provide the instructor's professional background, including education, experience, publications, awards, and relevant professional development records. This information helps students evaluate the instructor's professional background and teaching capabilities. (A bulleted list is preferred.)
6. Course Description (100-150 words)
Use clear and engaging language to describe the course content. Since the weekly syllabus cannot be included in the promotional brochure, this introduction will be a key reference for students when selecting courses. Please put effort into writing this section.
7. Teaching Methods
Describe the specific methods used in the course, such as lectures, hands-on practice, field visits, etc. CAMEO ART USA emphasizes interactive and experiential learning to expand and deepen students' life experiences. Instructors should incorporate "interactive dialogue" and "experience exchange" into their teaching methods.
8. Expected Course Benefits
Courses are designed for individuals aged 18 and above. The course aims to enhance both self-ability and professional literacy of the learners. Explain the expected benefits of the course in terms of self-improvement and professional development.
9. Credits and Number of Weeks
10. **Course Outline
The course outline is essential for course evaluation and will be posted on the website for potential students to review. Instructors should carefully plan and design the weekly topics and content summaries. Each content summary should be between 100 and 150 words.
11. Evaluation Methods
Clearly explain the grading criteria and their weightings (in percentage). For example: "Attendance 50%, class discussion 30%, assignments 20%."
12. Student Qualifications
There are no educational or experience requirements for the courses; anyone aged 18 and above can enroll. However, for advanced courses, instructors should specify the qualifications clearly to avoid confusion after the course starts.
13. Required Course Materials
Clearly specify the materials used in the course. For books, include the author, publication year, title, and publisher, formatted as follows: "Zhang Shuhui, 1995, Calligraphy Art and Appreciation, Wu Tai Books."
14. Additional Reading Materials
Emphasize the importance of self-directed learning by recommending additional reading materials and resources, clearly listing all relevant information for students' reference.
15. Additional Fees
Include any extra fees such as materials, photocopies, supplies, field trip transportation, insurance, etc. Estimate these costs accurately to avoid significant discrepancies that may inconvenience students. Specify the items required, allowing students to decide how to purchase them. According to CAMEO ART USA’s teaching regulations, instructors are not allowed to sell or promote products in class.
16. Items and Clothing Requirements for the First Week
Inform students about the items and clothing required for the first week of class.
17. Special Requirements
If your course requires special classrooms, equipment, or materials (projectors, laptops, CD/DVD players, projection screens, network cables, speakers, etc.), please specify to ensure the availability of necessary facilities and equipment. (If not applicable, leave this section blank.)
To enhance teaching quality and improve student learning outcomes, instructors may apply for a course assistant for indoor courses with over 20 students that involve individual guidance. If there are other reasons for needing an assistant, instructors may also apply by stating their reasons. Note that course assistants differ from class representatives (or vice representatives) in their service nature. Applications solely for assisting with classroom equipment operation or personal affairs of the instructor will not be accepted.
Each course is limited to one course assistant. The selection of the assistant will be based on the decision of the course review meeting. Instructors can recommend suitable candidates, or the CAMEO ART USA administrative team will select candidates from senior students in the relevant course field. Appointment is made upon approval by the course review meeting. Course assistants will be paid NT$170 per hour, with payment made upon course completion.
Course assistants are hired either for the entire course duration or on a per-module basis.
Administrative guidelines are as follows:
1. **Weekly Attendance: Course assistants must sign in every week.
2. **Leave of Absence: If a leave is necessary, notify the instructor and the CAMEO ART USA administrative team one week in advance.
3. **Participation: Course assistants must participate in course development meetings and various activities.
4. **Replacement: Instructors should not replace approved course assistants without permission.
5. **Incompetency: If a course assistant is deemed unsuitable, the instructor may apply for a replacement through the CAMEO ART USA administrative team.
To enhance the public and local relevance of our courses and to embody our educational philosophy of "deep community engagement and rooted ideals," we encourage instructors to arrange community participation activities related to their teaching topics. This enables students to not only grow personally but also apply their knowledge in real-world actions, enhancing their professional skills and practical life applications.
The "Activity Proposal Form" must include the proposed activity name, time, location, and the method of implementation. Once the proposal is approved by the course review committee, some activities will be conducted individually, while others will be organized and coordinated by the CAMEO ART USA administrative team. After finalizing the activity arrangements, instructors should communicate thoroughly with students to ensure they understand the significance of the activities.
